How does a person know they are able to have an MRI?
There is a series of medical screening questions that need to be answered prior to being cleared for an MRI. Some situations that MAY prohibit a person from having an MRI such as having had surgery within 6-8 weeks of the MRI, metal aneurism clips or a heart defibrillator.
Does a person have to travel far to have a study?
GENEX always attempt to schedule studies at the network facility closest to the injured person’s home, employer or physician’s address.
What happens to a person who is claustrophobic and needs an MRI?
Open MRI scanners are frequently available throughout the GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network for claustrophobic or large statured persons.
Why was an X-ray conducted and billed for when the only study scheduled was an MRI?
If a person has had exposure to metal grinding or welding, an x-ray of the eyes is mandatory prior to having an MRI to eliminate any possibility of metal fragments in the eyes. Metal dust particles in the eye can cause cornea damage during an MRI.
How does a diagnostic facility join the GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network?

How soon after a study is conducted is the report required/completed?
Completed reports are expected within 24 - 48 hours.
What is the GENEX turn around time for payment of facility invoices?
GENEX pays invoices within 30 days of bill receipt.
What if a claim is denied?
GENEX MDN authorization guarantees your payment; there is no need to worry about denials, peer reviews or delay of payment.
How do I schedule a diagnostic test through the GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network?

What diagnostic studies are currently for scheduling through GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network?
GENEX can schedule MRIs, CTs, EMG/NCV, Nuclear Medicine Bonescans, Arthrograms, and Myleograms. X-rays are generally done on a walk-in basis, therefore, do not need to be scheduled unless needed in conjunction with further diagnostic studies.
When using the GENEX Diagnostic Network, will the savings come from fee schedule or U&C?
GENEX MDN saves its clients anywhere from 20% - 75% off of prevailing state fee schedule or U&C.
How are savings communicated to GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network clients?
The GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network team sends monthly and quarterly savings reports upon request.
What should be done with an invoice that is received directly from a network facility?
Contact the GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network billing department by phone and forward the bill by email or fax.
What happens if a facility inadvertently sends an invoice directly to the carrier?
Contact the GENEX Medical Diagnostic Network billing department to begin the reimbursement process.
